Emergency Response is the SOS button that is pressed in times of need. We created this project to provide urgent help and support in the face of an extreme or unforeseen situation in Ukraine. Today, the sovereign nation of Ukraine has to deal with the most horrendous and catastrophic emergency – a brutal invasion. Razom is responding to this by providing critical humanitarian war relief and recovery depending on the most urgent needs as they evolve.
We send on average more than 50 pallets of aid to Ukraine each week. In the first month of the war, we shipped over 218 tons of supplies.
We follow a repeatable logistics process for procuring and delivering aid from abroad to warehouses in Poland and western Ukraine.
Euromaidan Warszawa is our trusted partner in Warsaw that receives shipments procured throughout western Europe and delivers them to western Ukraine. Meest America is delivering shipments procured from the United States directly to Ukraine. All of our aid is received in western Ukraine by our partners Kryla Nadiyi, who warehouse, sort, and prepare orders of aid that then gets distributed further.
A small group of engineers, in collaboration with Razom volunteers, has developed an online system to help track requests for aid in Ukraine. These requests then get cross referenced to active hotspots and prioritized based on safe routes.
We are collaborating with large US nonprofits, medical supply companies, hospitals, and donors to procure or purchase these items.
As always, we will remain flexible and adjust our strategy as the situation develops with updates here on our site and on our social media pages. We remain incredibly grateful to the generosity of our community around the world and are proud of our ability to work together to respond needs quickly and effectively.
Razom was founded on purely volunteering efforts of Ukrainian Americans in NYC during the 2013-14 Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine. Razom, which means “together” in Ukrainian, believes in the enormous potential of dedicated volunteers around the world united by a single goal: to unlock the potential of Ukraine. We work towards that mission by creating spaces where people meet, partner, and act.
Razom has maintained an open Emergency Response project since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014 where we mobilized to procure medical and tactical supplies to the eastern front. We picked up this project again in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to fundraise for, procure, and deliver medical supplies across covid hot spots in Ukraine. Since 2014, the Emergency Response fund has always remained open for donors so that we were in a position to act swiftly in support of Ukrainians in crisis situations. When reports came that Russia began amassing troops on Ukraine’s borders, we began actively promoting for the Emergency Response fund again on February 18, 2022.
An enormous thank you goes out to all of our donors, large and small, for supporting Razom’s work and allowing our projects to scale with greater impact. Know that you are part of a community of people from all over the world who have stepped up to the challenge and are supporting Ukraine in incredible ways, using the tools, resources, time, and skills that they already have to fundraise for Razom and give to Ukraine. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
