THE PROJECT

Artscapes of Care brings together Ukrainian artists, community healers, educators, and mental health professionals to create trauma-informed, arts-based experiences that process collective trauma from war, displacement, and grief. Through soundscapes and deep listening, movement and visual storytelling, and embodied creative practices, participants develop emotional regulation tools, strengthen peer connection, and build resilience they can carry into their communities.

THE PARTNERSHIP
First Aid of the Soul, a nonprofit founded in 2022, has reached over 23,500 Ukrainians through psychosocial support, trauma-informed education, and arts-based healing. Nathalie Robelot-Timtchenko, a licensed mental health counselor and expressive arts therapist, founded the organization within days of Russia’s full-scale invasion and recently completed her Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School. Kerry Kincy, an arts and health practitioner, contributes movement, visual art, storytelling, and participatory expressive arts methodologies. Dr. Midori Samson, a bassoonist, educator, and social worker, brings expertise in music, sound, and healing-centered care for communities affected by war and displacement.

LOOKING AHEAD
A replicable model and a trauma-informed toolkit designed for Ukrainian artists, educators, healers, and organizations, featuring adaptable prompts, grounding practices, and community-use frameworks.
