 oduce his book Collisions: The War in Ukraine and the Origins of the New G
 lobal Instability\, which is appearing with Oxford University Press in Mar
 ch 2023. Professor Kimmage will outline the origins of the war\, going bac
 k to 2008\; and the interplay among Russia\, Ukraine\, Europe and the Unit
 ed States that is the backdrop to Putin’s massive invasion of Ukraine in
  February 2022. Professor Kimmage will also sketch the war’s global impl
 ications and the policy options facing the United States at the present mo
