Internship Opportunity
Razom Advocacy is seeking interns to assist its work with Congress and the Executive Branch to advance policy that strengthens Ukraine and ensures its victory, bringing pro-Ukraine voices to the forefront of the policy conversation. Based in Washington, DC, the team also engages and activates constituents and grassroots organizations across the country, using events, public awareness campaigns, and press to mobilize support for Ukraine. By aligning grassroots engagement with clear policy priorities, the team bridges advocacy and legislative action to turn public support into tangible outcomes.
Interns will be accepted on a rolling basis. The duration of the internship can be adjusted to accommodate academic calendars. Mentorship is highly valued, and interns will be fully integrated into the Advocacy team, gaining a real view into the full scope of pro-Ukraine advocacy work. Interns will work from the DC office in Washington, DC, twice a week.
Intern responsibilities may include:
Government Relations
⊙ Conducting original research related to US policy and legislation on Ukraine
⊙ Participating in hands-on training advocating before federal officials
⊙ Contributing to drafts of rigorous and credible research materials
⊙ Attending and tracking relevant legislative sessions, hearings, and committee markups
⊙ Monitoring press and Capitol Hill publications for a variety of relevant topics
⊙ Researching and reviewing legislative bills and assisting with government advocacy projects, including tracking the movement and status of federal legislation
⊙ Maintaining and updating legislative tracking systems (including Quorum), internal databases, and records (including note-taking for meetings and events)
⊙ Developing memorandums summarizing legislation and policy proposals
⊙ Researching potential coalition partners and their positions on relevant legislation
⊙ Preparing briefing materials for meetings and events
⊙ Assisting with event organization and task management
⊙ Performing other duties as assigned
Grassroots & Coalition Engagement
⊙ Conducting research on target districts, local stakeholders, and community organizations to inform outreach strategies
⊙ Building and maintaining outreach lists (grassroots groups, coalition partners, local leaders, etc.) and action alerts
⊙ Assisting with written materials for the press, including op-eds and press releases
⊙ Assisting with the planning and coordination of biweekly grassroots advocacy calls
⊙ Carrying out initial outreach to various community or constituent groups for targeted advocacy campaigns
⊙ Developing calls to action, one-pagers, and other written materials for advocacy initiatives
⊙ Assisting with organization of in-district events and delegations to Ukraine
⊙ Supporting coalition coordination by preparing materials for partner calls and tracking shared initiatives
The ideal candidate will —
⊙ Have a strong interest in policy work to support a Ukrainian victory
⊙ Be interested in legislation and the U.S. political process
⊙ Work well independently and collaboratively, and be able to meet deadlines
⊙ Be able to pass a background check
⊙ Be able to work primarily from the Razom DC office
⊙ Desired qualifications include familiarity with Ukraine, knowledge of the Ukrainian language, and experience with federal- or state-level advocacy, grassroots organizing, or coalition-building.
