Washington, D.C. — Reports suggesting that the Pentagon may cut life-saving support for Ukraine
are extremely alarming. In taking such measures, Pentagon officials would directly undermine
President Trump’s efforts to achieve peace and subvert the President’s readiness to provide more air
defense to Ukraine.

Let’s be clear about the cost of this choice by Pentagon officials—more Russian missiles will get
through and more civilians will be murdered in their homes. This decision would further embolden
Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling that the United States isn’t strong enough to force
Russia to make peace and that Washington doesn’t keep its word. Beijing is watching. We call on
President Trump to reverse this mistake, send more air defense systems to Ukraine as he promised,
and help Kyiv stop the killing.
