Job Overview: The position is centered on executing the goals of the Public Engagement team within Razom’s Advocacy Program, in direct coordination with the Director of Public Engagement. These responsibilities include engaging with both Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian stakeholders and organizations, the development of Razom’s advocacy network, and the facilitation of important connections for the Ukrainian advocacy space.

 

About the Team: The Public Engagement (PE) Team is an integral component of Razom for Ukraine’s Advocacy Program. By working with Ukraine supporters across the country, the PE Team works to build and sustain effective relationships with local activists and community leaders across the country to increase support for a strong U.S.-Ukraine bilateral relationship.  The PE Team routinely partners with business communities, faith-based leaders, academics, media outlets, diaspora communities and other stakeholders to cultivate support for a sovereign, prosperous, and democratic Ukraine.

 

Reporting To: Director of Public Engagement

Qualifications: 

– Interpersonal skills for and previous experience in public engagement, outreach,  and relationship building with diverse partners and stakeholders.

– A proven track record of project management, including work plan development, management and strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated familiarity with the tools of grassroots advocacy, including coalition building, phone banking, town hall meetings, social media campaigns, rally organization, and media outreach, etc.

– Proven familiarity with Ukraine and a track record of supporting its fight for a stable, prosperous, sovereign, and democratic future. An understanding of Ukraine’s politics, culture, economy. Familiarity with the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States is advantageous.

– Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues concisely, clearly, and persuasively to diverse audiences, and to rapidly turn around correspondences and documents 

– Previous experience in event planning and program development

– Knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint

– Ability to manage and delegate tasks to interns and volunteers

– Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

– High-degree of cultural competence and ability to work collaboratively and inclusively across diverse groups with a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences

– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

– Ability to travel as necessary

– Ukrainian language fluency is advantageous but not required.

Job Responsibilities: 

Public Engagement Team Management

– In partnership with the Director of Public Engagement, conceptualize, plan, and implement interventions at the grassroots level to activate diaspora communities, faith-based organizations, business leaders, etc.

– Oversee and coordinate Razom Advocacy’s mobilization and coordination of the Ukrainian community in the United States.

– Oversee execution and tracking of administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling, event planning, budget tracking, and document management and organization to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the PE Team.

– In coordination with Razom Advocacy staff members, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, and community activists by leveraging internal tools and databases. 

– Assist the Director of Public Engagement in managing work distribution and workflow for members of the PE Team, ensuring that the spread of Public Engagement responsibilities covers all areas of the PE Team’s work.

DC & National Relationships Management

– Collaborate with partner organizations, including those in the American Coalition for Ukraine, on joint campaigns and events to nurture these partnerships & achieve common advocacy goals.

– Plan and implement events, including by organizing rallies, town halls, discussion forums, congressional briefings, in-district lobbying days, and other engagements to raise salience of and mobilize support for Ukraine.

– Represent Razom at various Ukraine-related events around DC and share relevant points of interest with the Director of Public Engagement and the greater Advocacy team.

– Research events (in DC or elsewhere) that could help our team develop a deeper understanding of the cultural politics around the reaction of various communities and member groups to the invasion and attend as Razom’s representative.

Logistics and Benefits:

Salary range: $60,000 – $75,000
