The organization is focused on meeting the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion, while building a sustainable future for the organization that can maintain its commitment to Ukraine in the long-term.  We are seeking an Events Manager that can lead the development and execution of a multifaceted portfolio of virtual and in-person events for fundraising, program activity, and internal engagement.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Events Manager is responsible for managing and developing virtual and in-person events that support the revenue goals of the organization, the mission of the programs, and Razom’s Advancement Team. 

 

These events include, but are not limited to:

• Major donor engagements

• Razom Program events

• Third-party fundraising events

• Cause Marketing partnerships

• Razom Annual Meeting (internal)

 

The Events Manager is based in New York City and reports to the Chief Advancement Officer, working closely with the Advancement team. Occasional travel is required for in-person events, donor engagements, and internal gatherings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Events Program Management 

• Manages all external and internal event inquiries and programming. Serves as primary event liaison between Advancement Team, Razom program teams and external organizations.  

• Oversees logistics, event invitation strategy, building and managing event budgets, facilitating event promotion, collaborating on program, and executing post event stewardship, as needed.

• Coordinates engagement and provides support to approved third-party fundraising events, including screening, coordinating event promotions through Razom and ensuring revenue is processed. Updates and evolves third-party programming, toolkit and other protocols, as needed.

• Grows Razom’s cause marketing strategy and program execution by researching, prospecting and cultivating new partnerships, stewarding and growing existing ones, and creating program protocols for the organization.

Produces and executes Razom’s key virtual events such as the major donor, online CEO Briefings and the Razom Presents periodic community webinar series. 

• Leads internal events such as the Razom Annual Meeting, ‘Razom Get Togethers,’ and in-office gatherings in collaboration with the People Team to enhance staff engagement and foster organizational cohesion.

 

Donor Relations & Stewardship

• Strengthens event partnerships by supporting the evolution of a benefits program, which may include sponsorship opportunities, donor recognition and/or volunteer engagement opportunities, as warranted.

• Stewards existing event-related participants, donors, partners and other relationships (e.g., vendors) through personal, digital and/or direct marketing touchpoints produced by the Advancement team.

• Supports the Advancement team’s donor stewardship efforts, as needed.

 

Business Development

• Strengthens Razom’s network of event partners by identifying, qualifying, cultivating and stewarding historical, current and future corporate and organizational donors.

• Prioritizes developing, codifying and operationalizing Razom’s cause marketing strategy.

 

Team Collaboration

• Works with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to build and manage the events revenue and expense budgets. Provides revenue and biweekly and/or quarterly status reports, as requested. 

• Collaborates with Razom’s Major Gifts Officer (MGO), CAO and executive leadership, to plan and support major and mid-level donor events.

Works with the Director of Annual Giving to conceive and plan fiscal year and quarterly event operations, across the board. 

• Works with members of the Advancement team to identify and cultivate historical and current event partners, coordinate digital promotion of events, prepare and execute stewardship outreach, track and report revenue from Humanitru donor database.

• Partners with Razom colleagues to plan and support program-related fundraising events according to organizational and strategic priorities. This may include logistics coordination, creation of sponsorship materials, event invitations, event signage, press and donor packets, event programs and any stewardship.

• Works cross-organizationally to produce online events, charting and managing their life cycles. 

• Collaborates with the People Team on internal-facing events and staff engagement opportunities to ensure alignment with organizational culture and team-building goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

• 5-7 years experience in the field of events management, preferably in the nonprofit sector, which can include development, communications, marketing experience.

• Experience in working with individual and institutional donors, volunteers, host committees and organizers of third-party fundraisers.

• Background in working with event and media sponsors.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 

• Experience working in a cross-cultural environment with teams in different countries. 

• Strong proficiency or fluency in Ukrainian language and experience working with Ukrainian audiences a strong plus. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of mediums with the ability to develop internal organizational partnerships.

• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for events and team coordination, including overnight trips.

SALARY RANGE

$70,000-$85,000

Final salary based on experience, qualifications, and scope of work.
