Charity Picnic for the Toy Drive

Last weekend, our Toy Drive team hosted a charity picnic in Central Park to celebrate Ukraine’s Independence. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and a better turnout! The day was action packed with fun activities, salo tasting, music, and great company. By the end of the day, we raised $2,000, which we will send to the Lviv Education Foundation in support of their program “Big Brother” (“Старший Брат”). “Big Brother” is a mentorship program for kids, whose fathers have been affected by the war in eastern Ukraine.

Razom supports GaliciaKult program in Kharkiv

GaliciaKult is a multidisciplinary social-cultural forum that happened in Kharkiv in October 2016.

GaliciaKult will physically transcend borders between west and east Ukraine, and bring the multifaceted culture of “Halychyna” region (west) to Kharkiv, the largest city of the Slobozhanshchyna historical region (northeast). The goal is to grasp the concept of a neighbor-ship, both inside the country and across the borders.

The forum’s program – the result of collaboration among curators, artists, scholars and cultural activists from West/East Ukraine and EU partners will include over 90 cultural events in several segments: visual art (8 exhibitions), music (5 big concerts), theater (6 spectacles), literature (17 meetings), film (16 films), lecture & discussion program (14 meetings) with a focus on different histories, identities and cultures of cities in Western Ukraine and Eastern Ukraine (represented by Kharkiv in the northeast). Razom has partnered up with DOFA Fund (organizer of #GaliciaKult) to raise cash to cover travel expenses for the artists. Razom Think: Monitoring Project OKO

In September 2014, Razom, in collaboration with the Agency of Image of Ukraine, established Project OKO — a public, politically independent project — in order to monitor mentions of Ukraine in the international media. In light of the ongoing war in Ukraine and amid manipulative news campaigns and propaganda disseminated by other actors, the project serves as an important “big picture” reflector of Ukraine’s image in today’s media. continue reading →

We did it: Razom Annual Meeting 2016!

Razom held its second annual meeting on Saturday, July 25th in New York City. More than 140 guests attended #Razom2years who learned about the organization’s progress and six initiatives, including: Razom IT, Razom Culture, Razom Think with UkrOko.org, Reformers without Borders, Razom Aid with Toy Drive, and Razom Partners. “I was so impressed to see so many new faces in the room,” said Razom Board Member, Dora Chomiak. “Clearly this shows that, even though the headlines may be off the front pages, the drive that brought Razom volunteers together in 2014 is still relevant today.”
